Maya People

The Maya People primarily inhabit the countries of Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico.

In Belize, the Maya population is scattered around the country, with higher concentrations of Maya people in the Cayo, Toledo and Orange Walk Districts.
There are currently an estimated 7 million Maya people (as of the start of the 21st century). Some Maya have fully integrated into modern cultures, while others choose to live by the old traditions.
Maya people in Toledo are using their culture, even reviving it, by promoting eco tourism in Belize.
