You can protect yourself from Belize illnesses by getting yourself the needed vaccinations before you travel to Belize and taking necessary steps for prevention.

Belize illnesses consist of arthropod borne diseases like malaria, chagas, dengue fever and leishmaniasis. Malaria is a serious and fatal disease caused by a parasite. Symptoms include fever, shaking, headache, body ache, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anemia, jaundice, kidney failure, seizures, coma and death. Chagas is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. Symptoms include fatigue, fever, enlarged liver and spleen. Dengue is transmitted by mosquitoes and its symptoms include high fever, severe headaches, joint pain, shock and others. Leishmaniasis is caused by rodents and its symptoms include fever, weight loss, swollen glands and diarrhea.
